⚔ MATHKNIGHTS™

Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 7, 2026
The short version. MathKnights is built for families. We collect the parent's email and the data needed to run the math practice (knight display names, PINs, and the questions a child has answered). We do not sell child data, we do not require children's real names or contact info, and we do not serve third-party advertising. The full details are below.

1. Who This Policy Applies To

This Privacy Policy explains how Nexplay AI LLC ("MathKnights," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the MathKnights website, applications, and related services (the "Service"). It covers both parent/guardian account holders and the child profiles ("Knights") created under those accounts.

Specific protections for children under 13 in the United States are described in Section 8 and in our separate Children's Privacy Notice.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information you provide when you sign up (parent/guardian)

  • Email address. Required to create your account, sign in, send progress reports, and contact you about your subscription.
  • Account password. Stored only in hashed form; we cannot read it.
  • Plan selection and billing information. If you subscribe to Premium Family, our payment processor collects your name, billing address, and payment card information directly. We do not see or store payment card numbers — we only receive a token, the last four digits, and basic transaction metadata.
  • Optional settings. Time zone, sound/music/speech preferences, default difficulty, and similar preferences you choose in Family Settings.

2.2 Information you provide for child profiles ("Knights")

  • Knight display name. A nickname chosen for the profile. We ask that you do not use the child's real full name.
  • 4-digit PIN. Set by the parent so the Knight can sign in independently without using the parent's password. PINs are stored in hashed form.
  • Optional grade level or skill range you select for difficulty calibration.

We do not ask for or knowingly accept a child's real name, email, phone number, address, photo, voice recording, or geolocation.

2.3 Information generated by use of the Service

  • Practice activity. Quests started and completed, questions presented, answers submitted, time spent, hints used, retake credits, and resulting scores. This is what powers progress tracking and is the core function of the Service.
  • Custom question banks you choose to create or import in the Question Bank Manager.

2.4 Information collected automatically

  • Device and log data. IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring/exit pages, and timestamps. We use this for security, debugging, and aggregate analytics.
  • Cookies and similar technologies. See Section 5.

3. How We Use Information

PurposeWhat we use
Provide the Service — sign you in, run quests, save progress, show history Email, password hash, PINs, knight names, practice activity, settings
Send progress reports and account emails Parent email, practice activity
Process subscription payments Billing details (held by payment processor), email
Improve the Service and create new features Aggregate, de-identified usage data and log data
Security, fraud prevention, and abuse detection Log data, IP address, device data, account activity
Comply with law and enforce our Terms As needed

We do not use child data to build advertising profiles, and we do not use child practice data to train third-party machine-learning models.

4. How We Share Information

We share information only in the limited cases below:

  • Service providers. Vendors that help us run the Service under contract (for example, our payment processor, cloud hosting provider, and transactional email provider). They may only use the information to provide services to us.
  • Legal and safety. When required by law, valid legal process, or to protect rights, safety, or property.
  • Business transfers. If MathKnights is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred subject to the receiving party honoring this Privacy Policy or providing notice of changes.
  • With your consent. Any other sharing only with your direction or consent.

We do not sell or rent personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising (sometimes called "targeted advertising"). We do not allow third-party advertising networks to track Knights inside the Service.

5. Cookies & Tracking

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and measure aggregate site usage. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. You may block cookies in your browser, but parts of the Service may not function correctly if you do.

6. Data Retention

We keep account information for as long as your account is active. You can delete a Knight profile at any time from the parent dashboard, which removes that Knight's display name, PIN, and practice history. If you delete your parent account, we delete or de-identify associated personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to keep records (for example, tax or fraud-prevention records held by our payment processor).

7. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect personal information — including TLS in transit, hashed passwords and PINs, access controls, and the practice of not storing payment card data on our servers. No system is perfectly secure, however. If we discover a security incident affecting your information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

8. Children's Privacy

MathKnights is intended to be used by children under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian who maintains the account. We follow the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act ("COPPA") for users under 13. Our full Children's Privacy Notice explains:

  • What information we collect for child profiles and how it is used;
  • How we obtain parental consent;
  • How a parent can review, delete, or stop further collection of a child's information;
  • Why we do not ask for, and ask that you not provide, a child's real name or contact information.

9. Your Rights & Choices

You can:

  • Access and update your account information from the parent dashboard or by emailing us;
  • Delete a Knight profile and its associated history at any time;
  • Export a copy of your account data (parent settings and Knight progress) by emailing support@mathknights.com;
  • Cancel your Premium subscription at any time;
  • Unsubscribe from non-essential email by following the link in any such email. (Account-related and billing emails cannot be turned off while you have an active account.)

10. U.S. State Privacy Rights

Depending on your state of residence (for example, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Virginia, and others with comprehensive privacy laws), you may have additional rights, including the right to know, correct, delete, port, and opt out of certain processing. To exercise these rights, email support@mathknights.com. We will verify your request using your account email and respond within the time required by law. We do not discriminate against users who exercise their privacy rights.

California residents: in the past 12 months we have collected the categories of information described in Section 2 for the purposes described in Section 3. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law, and we do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16.

11. International Users

MathKnights is operated from the United States. If you use the Service from outside the U.S., you understand that information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have different data-protection laws than your country.

12. Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will notify you by email or by a notice in the Service before the changes take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent revision.
